- | No. You said "Sorry, one of the rare problems to blame on Linux rather
- | than USR," and I thought it implied you mean it is a general Linux
- | problem. It's not a Linux problem, it's a Linux setup problem. Is it
- | clearer?

- | If you don't say '-detach', the pppd will detach itself from the terminal.
- | Even if the modem, cables and /dev/tty are properly setup, pppd will

-
- Got -detach. Got modem. Got crtscts. Modem drops CD. pppd runs on.
- Runs on with Slackware 2.3, runs on with 3.0, runs on with the token
- ring pppd, runs on with my systems and four other systems set up by
- other people. Doesn't note disconnect on 386s, 486s and Pentia.
-
- Here is the .ppprc file:
- modem
- crtscts
- proxyarp
- asyncmap 0
- -detach
-
- Does anyone have any suggestions other than "you set it up wrong
- because it works for me?" Oh, the flow control and proxyarp work, so
- they don't seem to have to all be on the same line (think I tried
- that).
